Czech infrastructure: New parking, sports, and cycling projects

Various municipal and national developments are underway across the Czech Republic, focusing on infrastructure and sports. A major project by ČEZ involves constructing a large parking facility near the Dukovany Nuclear Power Plant, which will add over 500 spaces to accommodate future expansion.

In the realm of sports, the Czech Union of Sport (ČUS) announced that sports infrastructure will be prioritized for European funds between 2028 and 2034. This shift could unlock billions of crowns for municipal and university sports facilities, as well as the revitalization of brownfields. Local initiatives also include the development of a new sports arena in Bohumín and the expansion of training grounds in Zlín to support growing youth sports participation.

Urban mobility is also seeing significant investment. New cycling and pedestrian paths are being planned in Central Bohemia and Hradec Králové. Additionally, several municipalities are addressing parking shortages through new parking houses, such as the upcoming facility in Neratovice and discounted resident parking at the P+R Opatov station in Prague.
