Prague police detain man suspected of sexual assault

Police in Prague 8 have detained a man suspected of rape and attempted rape. The incidents occurred in late September in the Palmovka park area and near Pod Plynojemem. In one instance, a man allegedly raped a woman after she refused to exchange sexual favors for the return of her mobile phone. In a second incident, a man reportedly ignored a woman's resistance while sitting on a park bench, but was interrupted by her partner.

The suspect, who is described as lacking front teeth and frequenting homeless environments, faces up to ten years in prison. Authorities have released his photograph and are calling for any additional victims to come forward. Investigators noted that the man had been under scrutiny previously regarding a similar incident in December 2024, though no charges were filed at that time due to insufficient evidence.
