Prague ranks 19th globally in quality of life index

Prague has been ranked 19th out of 69 cities in a quality of life index compiled by the Deutsche Bank Research Institute. The city outperformed major metropolises such as Tokyo, Paris, London, and New York in this assessment.

Key factors contributing to Prague's high ranking include high levels of safety, where it placed 9th, and accessible healthcare, ranking 18th. However, the city faces challenges regarding housing affordability, placing 52nd in that category. While the city offers relatively low costs for public transport and certain consumer goods, residents face high energy costs.

Data from Numbeo also highlights Prague as a highly attractive and affordable destination compared to cities like Zurich, Oslo, or Amsterdam, noting that the cost of living in Prague is significantly lower than in those major European hubs. Despite rising wages in Central European cities like Prague, Warsaw, and Budapest, which are narrowing the gap with Western Europe, Prague remains a top-tier location for quality of life relative to its expenses.
