Prague road reconstruction on Kbelská street finishes ahead of schedule
The reconstruction of Kbelská street in Prague has been completed two days ahead of schedule. Two-way traffic on the new surface is set to begin on the evening of Thursday, August 13, following the removal of temporary signage and plastic guides.
The project involved 3.9 kilometers of roadway, including milling existing asphalt and replacing it with approximately 45,000 tons of high-durability asphalt. Additional works included replacing guardrails, reinforcing the subgrade with geogrids, and installing heavy-duty sewage covers capable of supporting 90-ton loads.
City officials noted that the early completion allowed for the repair of closed ramps, which is expected to reduce traffic restrictions during the busier autumn months. The construction was carried out by a consortium including EUROVIA CZ, STRABAG SIS, and PORR within the approved budget.
