Prague Stock Exchange climbs on lower oil prices, boosting CSG and Komerční Bank shares

The Prague Stock Exchange (PX) opened the week 1.2% higher at 2,686 points, driven by a surge in sentiment as global oil prices fell about 6% after the United States and Iran paused mutual attacks to allow diplomatic talks.

Czechoslovak Group (CSG) shares led the gains, jumping 5.89% to 401 CZK, while Komerční banka rose 4.01% to 1,063 CZK, recording the highest trading volume among main issuers. Other regional banks also edged up, with Erste Bank gaining 1.3% and insurer VIG adding 0.82%. Energy firm ČEZ slipped slightly, losing 0.15%, and Doosan Škoda Power fell 1.8%.

Analysts linked the rally to the oil‑price decline and the easing of geopolitical tension, which lifted risk appetite across Western European markets and benefited the Czech equity market.
