Prague Stock Exchange posts strongest July gains, index climbs above 2700 points

The Prague Stock Exchange’s main index (PX) rose 5.38 % in July, delivering the highest monthly gain of the year and closing above the 2700‑point level for the first time since February. The rally was led by insurance group VIG, Komerční banka and energy company ČEZ, while the Czech arms manufacturer CSG posted a 27.9 % surge, making it the top‑performing stock for the month.

The strong performance follows a period of volatility earlier in the year, when the index fell below 2500 points amid uncertainty over the Middle‑East conflict. Analysts noted that the recent gains reflect solid earnings reports and improved market confidence.

The Czech koruna remained stable against the euro and the dollar during the session, with no significant change in exchange rates.
