Prague to deploy new equipment for electric vehicle and noise checks
Prague is introducing new specialized equipment to assist police in enforcing traffic regulations regarding electric vehicles and vehicle noise. The city will acquire a mobile Dynostar SSD rolling dynamometer, which allows officers to verify the actual power and speed of electric bicycles and scooters during roadside checks.
This measure aims to identify vehicles that are illegally modified or software-unlocked to perform like mopeds or motorcycles while operating without required registration or licenses. Additionally, the city will procure a CANOS mobile sound level meter to objectively measure noise levels from cars and motorcycles with modified or non-compliant exhaust systems. The equipment, managed by the municipal transport department, is expected to cost up to 350,000 CZK.
