Prague water main burst affects tens of thousands

A major water main failure on a DN 600 supply line at the intersection of Ďáblická and Žernosecká streets in Prague has necessitated an emergency shutdown. The affected line is a primary supply from nearby reservoirs, serving tens of thousands of customers.

The water outage is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, October 21, around 10:00 PM, with repairs expected to conclude by Thursday afternoon. Impacted areas include the Ďáblice and Prosek housing estates (south of Liberecká) and the Krocínka area. Residents in parts of Ďáblice may also experience reduced water pressure.

Prague Water and Sewerage (PVK) is providing alternative drinking water via mobile tankers and containers with bottled water at various locations throughout the affected districts. The Prosek Polyclinic will not be affected by the outage.
