Prague's Automat Matuška and Slovakia's Lidl launch summer menus

Automat Matuška on Jiřího z Poděbrad square in Prague introduced a seasonal summer menu six months after opening. New dishes include an asparagus salad with stracciatella, a strawberry dessert served with ginger granita, a rabbit schnitzel in rye bread with mushroom ketchup, and a roast beef served with rye bread and truffle mayo. Chef Radek Machač explained, “Asparagus and strawberries are at their peak now, so it would be a waste not to use them,” emphasizing the focus on fresh, local ingredients.

Lidl’s summer kitchen in Slovakia opened an outdoor cooking space featuring fresh‑air recipes and guest chefs. Chef Marcel Ihnačák teamed with colleague Marek Ort to present dishes such as grilled chicken wings with parsley pesto, while pastry chef Veronika Bušová collaborated with Miška Králiková on fruit‑skewered desserts. Ihnačák said, “Cooking outdoors feels more relaxed and the recipes are simpler so people can enjoy the moment.” The venue also rolled out a redesign of its digital channels and studio to better showcase the new seasonal content.
