Praha 8 acquires land for new football center

The Prague 8 district council has approved the purchase of a 16,531-square-meter plot of land in Libeň to secure and expand local sports facilities. The land, currently used as a football pitch for FK Meteor Praha VIII, was purchased from a company belonging to the Kaufland Group for 50 million CZK, which is approximately 880,000 CZK below its expert valuation.

This acquisition aims to protect the existing sports site and pave the way for the development of a modern football center. The planned facility is intended to be used by both AC Sparta Praha and the local FK Meteor Praha VIII. The purchase was supported by a subsidy from the City of Prague.
