Prahova charity campaigns provide school supplies for students

Charity campaigns are underway in Prahova County, Romania, to provide school supplies to children from low-income families ahead of the new academic year.

In Pleașa, the local parish organized the 10th edition of the ‘A backpack for a better future’ campaign. Parish priest Marius Gheorghe distributed over 100 backpacks filled with necessary school supplies, clothing, and footwear to students at the ‘Mihai Vodă’ Elementary School. The initiative supports children from Pleașa, Colonia Pleașa, and 1 Mai.

In Strejnicu, the Lider Protector Association and volunteers from Târgșoru Vechi are organizing the 4th edition of the ‘Donate a backpack’ campaign. Scheduled for August 30, 2026, the event invites the public to donate equipped backpacks, stationery, or funds near the Conpet Stadium. The campaign aims to alleviate the financial burden on families struggling to afford essential school items.
