Praia da Barra's Noite Branca festival and outdoor cinema sessions brighten Portugal's summer

On Saturday, August 8, Praia da Barra in Ílhavo, Portugal, will host the second edition of the free‑entry "Noite Branca" party. The event runs from 20:00 until after 02:00 on the promenade surrounding the historic Faro de Barra, with five local DJs – Hugo Rafael, Atmus, Martim Azevedo, Sara Santini and John Deluxe – providing music for crowds dressed in white.

At the same time, several municipalities across Portugal are offering free outdoor cinema screenings over the weekend. In Porto, the "Cinema Fora do Sítio" series will show the Oscar‑winning film "Batalha Atrás de Batalha" at the Jardins do Palácio de Cristal on Friday, while other venues in Penafiel, Castelo Branco and the Azores will screen a mix of recent blockbusters and classic titles such as "Super Mario Galaxy – O Filme" and "O Diabo Veste Prada".
