Praia Grande announces viaduct expansion and transit maintenance
Infrastructure projects and maintenance efforts are underway in Praia Grande, São Paulo. The Curva do S Viaduct on the Padre Manoel da Nóbrega Highway is scheduled for structural widening and improvements starting in 2026. Developed by Ecovias in partnership with Artesp, the project will include a new access ramp to connect the viaduct with the Ribeirópolis and Esmeralda neighborhoods, aiming to alleviate traffic congestion and facilitate travel toward the South Coast.
The first phase of the viaduct works involves increasing lane capacity and renovating pedestrian walkways, with an estimated completion time of 15 months after commencement.
Concurrently, the Praia Grande City Hall has intensified maintenance on public bus shelters across the municipality. These repairs, managed by the Secretariat of Transport (Setransp), include replacing damaged components to ensure passenger safety and comfort. This maintenance follows previous incidents involving deteriorating structures, and officials stated that routine conservation is being conducted alongside a broader modernization process for the city's transit stops.
