Praia Grande: Two-year-old girl dies after hammer assault
A two-year-old girl has died following physical assaults involving hammer blows at her home in Praia Grande, on the coast of São Paulo.
The Municipal Civil Guard (GCM) was alerted on Monday afternoon by staff at the Quietude health post after signs of aggression were identified. Although family members and neighbors transported the child to a medical unit for treatment, she succumbed to the severity of her injuries.
The Public Security Secretariat (SSP-SP) is investigating the cause of death. The case is being handled by the Women's Defense Police Station (DDM) in Praia Grande, which is conducting investigations and awaiting forensic and necropsy results to identify the perpetrator. The child's guardian has been taken to the Central de Polícia Judiciária to record the occurrence.
