Prairie View A&M dominates Texas Southern in Labor Day Classic

Prairie View A&M secured a dominant 52-14 victory over Texas Southern in the 41st Labor Day Classic held at Panther Stadium. The defending SWAC champion utilized a powerful offensive performance to overwhelm their rivals, led by quarterback Tevin Carter, who recorded five total touchdowns through both passing and rushing.

The game featured an early momentum shift when Jahbari Kuykendall returned the opening kickoff 90 yards for a touchdown. Prairie View A&M built a 17-0 lead in the first quarter and extended their advantage significantly during a four-touchdown third quarter. The Panthers finished the game with 397 total yards and no turnovers.

Texas Southern, which entered the matchup following a recent win against North Carolina Central, managed to score late in the fourth quarter. Despite a touchdown run by Cam’Ron McCoy, the Tigers were unable to overcome the deficit, finishing the game with limited offensive production against the Prairie View A&M defense.
