Prajanchai and Aliff set for Muay Thai title unification
ONE Championship has confirmed a strawweight Muay Thai World Title unification bout between reigning champion Prajanchai Pongsuphan PK and interim titleholder Aliff Sor Dechapan. The match is scheduled for Friday, December 18, at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok as part of The Inner Circle 43 event.
The unification follows a period of divisional shifts caused by Prajanchai’s injury and subsequent surgery. During his absence, Aliff secured the interim championship by defeating Sam-A Gaiyanghadao via fifth-round knockout in July. Aliff, a Malaysian fighter, became the first Malaysian ONE world champion following that victory.
Prajanchai, a former two-sport champion with over 340 career wins, recently returned to competition at The Inner Circle 35, where he suffered a split-decision loss to Wang Junguang under kickboxing rules. The upcoming five-round contest will determine the undisputed strawweight Muay Thai champion.
