During a press conference in Bengaluru, Raj alleged that his voter status was incorrectly marked as “permanently shifted,” an action he claims effectively removes a citizen's voting rights.

Raj criticized the requirement to submit Form 6 to restore his name, arguing that doing so would imply an admission that his name had been unlawfully deleted. He stated he attempted to use Form 8 instead, but it was not accepted. He further questioned the necessity of the Commission sending a Booth Level Officer (BLO) to his residence after he raised the issue.

Broadening his critique, Raj expressed concern that the Special Inquiry Revision (SIR) process could disenfranchise large groups of people, such as migrant workers and those who move for marriage or rental changes. He questioned the speed of the revision process and suggested that the current methods force citizens to “beg” for their fundamental right to vote, rather than the state ensuring its protection.
