Prakash Raj claims name removed from Bengaluru voter rolls

Actor Prakash Raj has alleged that his name was removed from the Bengaluru electoral rolls during the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process. In a social media video, Raj claimed he was among 65 lakh voters whose rights were deleted, questioning the necessity of the documentation required to restore his voter ID.

The Bengaluru Central City Corporation has responded to these claims, stating that Raj's name was not deleted but marked as “permanently shifted” following a house-to-house verification. According to the corporation, a Booth Level Officer (BLO) found that Raj had not resided at his registered Garden Apartment address for the past four years, a fact reportedly confirmed by neighbors and the property manager.

Officials clarified that while his name was active in the Shantinagar Assembly Constituency as of the June 16 data freeze, the verification process identified him as having moved. The corporation noted that Raj has since confirmed he is residing at a different address within the same constituency and can process a Form-6 to update his registration at his current residence.
