Pralhad Joshi launches commemorative publication for Bharat Innovates
Union Education Minister Pralhad Joshi has launched a commemorative publication for Bharat Innovates, a flagship Indian program designed to transition innovations from universities and research laboratories to global markets. The initiative aims to bridge the gap between Indian innovators and international investors, industry leaders, and research institutions.
The maiden edition of Bharat Innovates 2026 was previously inaugurated in Paris by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and French President Emmanuel Macron. That initial event featured over 120 innovators and 500 global stakeholders, resulting in approximately USD 254.5 million in funding commitments and advanced-stage investments. The program focuses on 13 key sectors, including semiconductors, space technology, biotechnology, advanced computing, and healthcare.
Speaking at the Bharat Innovates exposition held alongside BRICS 2026 events, Joshi emphasized that the program serves as a crucial mechanism to propel Indian ingenuity onto the international stage. He noted that the initiative is central to India's role during its BRICS chairship, fostering cross-border cooperation and connecting domestic research to global commercial opportunities.
