Pranavi Urs wins historic individual gold in women's golf at Asian Games

Indian golfer Pranavi Urs has become the first Indian woman to win an individual gold medal in golf at the Asian Games. Competing at the Kasugai Country Club East Course, Urs finished the four-round tournament with a score of 15-under 265, including an even-par 70 in the final round.

In addition to her individual success, Urs contributed to a silver medal for India in the women's team event alongside teammates Aditi Ashok and Diksha Dagar.

Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia congratulated Urs via video call, noting his history with the athlete. Scindia recalled playing rounds with Urs when she was still a student and expressed pride in the Madhavrao Scindia Foundation’s involvement in her sporting journey. The conversation also touched upon the importance of mental strength and sports psychology in her preparation for the Games.
