Prashant Kishor declares ₹96 crore assets in Bankipur by‑poll affidavit

Political strategist‑turned‑politician Prashant Kishor filed his nomination for the Bankipur Assembly by‑poll in Bihar. In the required election affidavit he disclosed personal assets worth ₹96.06 crore, split between ₹22.19 crore in movable assets and ₹73.87 crore in immovable property. His wife, Dr. Jahnavi Das, reported movable assets of ₹89.51 crore and immovable assets of ₹12.42 crore, bringing the family’s total declared wealth to roughly ₹198 crore.

Kishor also listed a 100 % stake in Vedhas Ventures Private Limited, valued at about ₹95.26 crore, along with bank fixed deposits and market investments exceeding ₹7.36 crore. The affidavit shows a bank loan of ₹5.77 crore. Additionally, eight pending criminal cases are noted, involving allegations such as unlawful assembly and rioting, though no formal charges have been framed.

The Bankipur seat became vacant after BJP leader Nitin Nabin moved to the Rajya Sabha. Kishor, founder of the Jan Suraaj Party, is making his electoral debut with this contest.
