Pratapgarh Self Help Group praised by PM Modi

During his ‘Mann Ki Baat’ program, Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the Savitri Phule Self Help Group from Pratapgarh for their work in producing various goods from amla (Indian gooseberry). The group, which includes Kamlesh Kumari as president and Sushma Devi as secretary, has been operating since 2020 to provide local employment and foster self-reliance among village women.

The group produces items such as amla murabba, candy, and juice, which are packaged and sold in markets, fairs, and at government events. Following the Prime Minister's mention of their efforts, group members expressed pride in the recognition of their hard work. The group's leadership has requested that the government establish a system for direct procurement of self-help group products to ensure better market access and increased income for the women involved.
