Prater celebrates 260th anniversary with three-day festival

The Wurstelprater in Vienna is preparing to celebrate its 260th anniversary with a three-day festival from September 18 to 20, 2026. The event, which is free to the public, will feature a diverse program including guided tours, concerts, readings, and activities for children.

According to Prater Association President Silvia Lang and Vice President Fredo Nemec, the jubilee celebrates 260 years of joy. The festivities are set to begin on September 18 at 6:00 PM at the Prater Museum. Local officials, including Vice Mayor Barbara Novak and District Chairman Alexander Nikolai, highlighted the site's importance as a cultural landmark and a vital part of the Leopoldstadt district's identity.
