Prati sniper identified as Edoardo Crescimanno Ciardiello

Edoardo Crescimanno Ciardiello, a 50-year-old man, has been identified as the individual responsible for a series of shootings in the Prati district of Rome. Known as the ‘Prati sniper,’ Ciardiello surrendered to the Carabinieri after causing significant fear among local residents.

The suspect lived on via della Giuliana, directly facing the location where Cristina Stillitano was struck in the arm. Stillitano, who remains hospitalized, stated she did not know the suspect and had suspected a different individual.

Local witnesses described Ciardiello as appearing to be a normal person with no prior reputation for violence. One local business owner reported an encounter with the man in March, noting he appeared disheveled and was using a crutch, but did not exhibit aggressive behavior at that time.
