Pratikno calls for lead-free movement and higher education adaptation
Indonesian Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Cultural Affairs, Pratikno, has called for a collective movement to achieve a lead-free Indonesia. He emphasized that regulation alone is insufficient and that the National Action Plan (RAN) for a Lead-Free Indonesia must prioritize public education, increased knowledge, and behavioral changes to help citizens identify and avoid lead exposure sources.
In a separate initiative, Pratikno addressed the need for higher education institutions to adapt to rapid technological shifts and changing workforce demands. Speaking at the inauguration of a new building at Cakrawala University, he urged universities to move beyond being mere technology users to becoming developers. He highlighted the importance of experiential learning, internships, and real-world projects to ensure students possess the competencies required in a disrupted job market.
