Prato Province funds restoration of Convitto Cicognini facade

The Province of Prato has allocated 100,000 euros for the conservative restoration of the main facade of the Convitto Nazionale Cicognini. This historic institution is one of the oldest schools in Prato and has been a cultural landmark for centuries, once hosting notable figures such as Gabriele D’Annunzio and Curzio Malaparte.

Technical inspections revealed degradation in the stone elements, plaster, and moldings of the facade due to weathering. These issues posed potential risks to public safety and the security of students and staff, while also impacting the urban decor of Prato's historic center. The funding aims to preserve the architectural integrity and ensure the continued safety and preservation of the monumental complex.
