Pratolungo ditch safety works resume in Rome with 20 million euro investment

Work has resumed on the hydraulic safety project for the Pratolungo ditch near Rome, located in the Tiburtina area by the Grande Raccordo Anulare. The project, valued at approximately 20 million euros, aims to reduce flood risks and protect the surrounding industrial, commercial, and artisanal activities.

The intervention follows significant flooding in December 2008 and includes regulation works and a flood attenuation basin. After being suspended in 2018 due to legal requirements for state-level environmental impact assessments, the Lazio Region has updated the project to meet environmental standards. Construction is scheduled to be completed by 2028, with funding provided through dedicated budget funds, FSC resources, and regional funds.
