Pratt & Whitney invests US$25 million to expand Polish engine facility

Pratt & Whitney, a subsidiary of RTX, is investing approximately US$25 million (PLN 95 million) to expand its manufacturing facility in Niepołomice, Poland. The expansion aims to increase production capacity for complex tubular assemblies used in both commercial and military aircraft engines.

The project, supported by the Polish Investment Zone Programme and the Kraków Technology Park, involves purchasing modern machinery and implementing automation for various technological processes. The expansion is expected to be operational by 2028 and will create more than 120 new jobs. The facility produces components for several major programs, including the GTF engine for commercial aircraft and the F135 engine used in the F-35 Lightning II fighter.

This move follows a recent US$100 million investment in Pratt & Whitney facilities in Rzeszów. Poland currently serves as RTX’s largest investment and employee base outside the United States, employing over 9,500 people across its Collins Aerospace, Pratt & Whitney, and Raytheon businesses.
