Prayagraj Police target Atiq Ahmed gang members and transfer wanted shooter

Prayagraj Police have initiated legal action against Imran, the brother-in-law of deceased mafia Atiq Ahmed, and his family under the Gangster Act. According to the FIR, Imran has been identified as the alleged gang leader, while his mother and two sons are named as gang members. The investigation into their activities has been assigned to ACP Atarsuiya.

In a related development, Uttar Pradesh Police have transferred Arman, a wanted shooter linked to the Atiq Ahmed gang, from Gaya Central Jail in Bihar to Prayagraj. Arman, who carries a reward of 5 lakh rupees, is an accused in the February 2023 Umesh Pal murder case, in which lawyer Umesh Pal and two government guards were killed. Police allege Arman was operating a motorcycle during the incident. He had been incarcerated in Gaya for approximately three and a half years following a separate surrender.
