PRC demands release of 30,000 euros for celiac families in Cantabria

Paula Fernández Viaña, the PRC candidate for the Presidency of Cantabria, has called on the regional government to release 30,000 euros allocated in the 2026 budget to assist families affected by celiac disease.

The funds were intended to offset the higher cost of gluten-free food. However, administrative placement has prevented the money from being distributed as direct aid. While there were proposals for the Asociación de Celíacos de Cantabria (ACECAN) to manage the distribution, Fernández Viaña argued that the association lacks the necessary technical and administrative resources to handle such a task. She stated that the association should not be forced to assume a bureaucratic burden that belongs to the regional administration.
