Nottingham Forest submits €20m second offer for Feyenoord right‑back Givairo Read

Nottingham Forest have lodged a second, improved bid for Feyenoord's 20‑year‑old right‑back Givairo Read. The latest proposal is reported to total €20 million, up from the earlier €17.5 million offer that was rejected by Feyenoord. Fabrizio Romano confirmed that the deal is “underway” and that Read is “open for the move”, with personal terms not posing an obstacle.

Read, a Netherlands Under‑21 international, is under contract with Feyenoord until 2029, giving the Dutch club a strong negotiating position. Interest has also been shown by Manchester City and Bayern Munich, but Forest appears to be the closest contender after the renewed bid. Feyenoord’s technical director Dévy Rigaux has not yet publicly responded to the latest offer.

The bid reflects Forest’s broader strategy to strengthen the squad ahead of the 2026‑27 Premier League season under new head coach Oliver Glasner, having already signed midfielder Xaver Schlager on a free transfer.
