Preacher KH Anwar Zahid involved in vehicle collision in Bojonegoro

Preacher KH Anwar Zahid was involved in a traffic accident in Bojonegoro, East Java, on Monday night. The Toyota Alphard carrying the preacher was struck from behind by a trailer truck on the Padangan–Ngawi highway.

The incident occurred around 10:45 PM while the convoy was traveling from Bojonegoro to Banjarnegara, Central Java, for a religious event. The vehicle had stopped in a queue due to a roadwork-related traffic management system (open-close flow) when the trailer truck, driven by a 44-year-old man, collided with the rear of the Alphard. The impact caused the Alphard to be pushed forward into another truck, resulting in significant damage to both the front and rear of the vehicle.

Police suspect the truck driver fell asleep at the wheel, causing him to lose control. No fatalities were reported, and KH Anwar Zahid and the driver were unharmed. Despite the accident, the preacher reportedly underwent a medical check and intended to proceed with his scheduled appearance in Banjarnegara.
