Pre‑campaign rallies strengthen 2026 election bids in Maranhão and Acre
Former health secretary Tiago Fernandes held a large political gathering in São Luís, Maranhão, on Saturday. Hundreds of supporters attended despite heavy rain, which allies interpreted as a sign that his pre‑campaign for the Maranhão State Legislative Assembly in 2026 is gaining momentum. Fernandes said, “Seeing so many people gathered, even in the rain, was more than moving. It confirmed that this walk was never only mine.”
Meanwhile, pre‑candidate for governor Tião Bocalom began a two‑day visit tour in Tarauacá, Acre. He met local families, producers, entrepreneurs and political leaders, stressing that “politics is made with presence, looking into people’s eyes and valuing those who have always been by our side.” The visits are intended to reinforce his 2026 gubernatorial pre‑campaign by building direct contact with voters across the state.
