Precure selects Helix to provide multiomics and AI tools for million-sample study

Precure, a new initiative led by the Mayo Clinic in partnership with Thermo Fisher Scientific, has selected Helix as its multiomics laboratory and AI tools provider. The project aims to generate molecular data from approximately one million biospecimens to identify biological signals that appear before disease symptoms manifest.

Helix will provide advanced AI tools for genomics delivery and biomarker-driven research, alongside population-scale multiomic capabilities including clinical whole genome sequencing (WGS) and research-grade proteome sequencing. To support this large-scale effort, Precure and Helix have selected Ultima Genomics’ UG200 Ultra Sequencing Platform, which is capable of producing up to 60,000 whole genomes annually.

By integrating longitudinal clinical information with high-performance computing and large-scale analytics, the initiative seeks to accelerate the integration of molecular insights into routine clinical care. The goal is to establish clinical whole genome sequencing and multiomics as a foundation of care to improve early disease detection, diagnosis, and treatment.
