Predrag Bošković denies indictment over alleged misuse of defense funds
Former Defense Minister and DPS MP Predrag Bošković has requested that a judge reject an indictment brought by the Special State Prosecutor's Office (SDT). The SDT alleges that between 2018 and 2020, Bošković, along with former finance chief Marko Drobnjak and former state secretary Slobodan Filipović, illegally disbursed funds to non-governmental and sports organizations.
The prosecution claims these actions caused more than 168,000 euros in damages to the Montenegrin budget. The defendants face charges of a prolonged criminal offense, which carries a potential prison sentence of one to eight years.
Bošković denied the allegations during a hearing at the High Court in Podgorica, arguing that the payments were administrative errors rather than criminal acts. He noted that the average payment in question was less than 4,000 euros and asserted that his actions were consistent with those of his predecessors and successors. Drobnjak and Filipović also denied any wrongdoing.
