Businessman Ricardo Silva Guimarães found dead in Goiás lake, robbery suspected

A 48‑year‑old Brazilian businessman, Ricardo Silva Guimarães, was discovered dead on 18 June in the lake of Parque da Cidade in Anápolis, Goiás. He had been missing since 16 June after failing to appear at his home in Jataí, prompting his sister to report his disappearance.

Police traced his BYD Song Pro vehicle, which was seen traveling through São Simão, Anápolis and toward Mineiros. The car was later recovered with blood stains in the trunk. Investigators found signs of violence on the victim’s neck and are treating the case as latrocínio – robbery followed by homicide. A roadblock on BR‑364 was ignored by the suspects, who fled toward the Goiás–Mato Grosso border before abandoning the vehicle in the Alto Araguaia region. No arrests have been made so far.
