Pregnant woman in Czechia resuscitated after cardiac arrest

A pregnant woman in Czechia was successfully resuscitated after suffering a cardiac arrest caused by a severe arrhythmia. The incident occurred on June 28, 2025, approximately two weeks before her due date. Her eldest daughter played a critical role by running down six flights of stairs to open the door for emergency responders, saving vital seconds.

Paramedics arrived within four minutes and performed resuscitation efforts for 17 minutes before restoring her heart function. The woman was transported to the Hradec Králové Faculty Hospital, where she underwent an emergency cesarean section.

Both the mother and her daughter, Lucinka, were born healthy. The mother was later awakened from a medically induced coma and has since been recovering well. To prevent future occurrences, doctors noted that an implanted defibrillator would provide protection should the arrhythmia recur.
