Preity Zinta makes Bollywood comeback after eight‑year break

Actress Preity Zinta is returning to the big screen in Rajkumar Santoshi’s film Batwara 1947, her first role since the 2018 release Bhaiaji Superhit. She explained that she stepped away from acting for eight years to focus on raising her children, saying motherhood changed her priorities.

Zinta said she felt nervous on the first day of shooting when Santoshi gave her the most demanding scene of the movie. Co‑star Sunny Deol helped calm her nerves, offering support and encouragement throughout the shoot. The ensemble cast also includes Shabana Azmi, Karan Deol, Ali Fazal and others.
