Preljubovića–Dašnica Mosque officially opens in Bijeljina

The reconstructed Preljubovića–Dašnica Mosque has officially opened in Bijeljina, Bosnia and Herzegovina. The mosque was one of five in the city destroyed during the aggression in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

During the ceremony, Mevlud-ef. Dudić, the Sandžak Mufti and representative of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina, highlighted the history of coexistence between Muslims and Orthodox Christians in the region. He noted that during the mosque's 1979 reconstruction, many Serbs from Semberija contributed to its building. He also referenced the historical contribution of Hanumica Osmanbegović, a Muslim woman who provided land for the construction of an Orthodox church.

The reopening is part of a broader mosque restoration process in Bijeljina that began in late 2002, supported by the Tuzla Muftiate led by Dr. Vahid-ef. Fazlović.
