Premier Energies launches ₹5,000 crore fundraising plan as Q1 profit surges 53%
Premier Energies Limited reported a 53% jump in first‑quarter FY27 profit to roughly ₹472 crore on revenue of about ₹2,508 crore, driven by strong sales of solar cells and modules and the recent acquisition of transformer maker Transcon Ind Limited. The board approved a flexible fundraising programme of up to ₹5,000 crore through equity, convertible debentures, warrants or a qualified institutional placement, and re‑appointed Chairman Surenderpal Singh Saluja and Managing Director Chiranjeev Singh Saluja for fresh five‑year terms.
The company also expanded its solar manufacturing footprint, inaugurating a 5.6 GW module plant in Seetharampur and nearing completion of a 7 GW cell plant at Naidupeta, while its transformer subsidiary is set to commission a 10 GVA HV/EHV facility by September 2026. An order book of roughly ₹15,000 crore (about 9,867 MW) – almost entirely domestic – underpins revenue visibility for upcoming quarters.
