Premier League clubs break transfer records with Brentford and Arsenal signings
Brentford Football Club announced a club‑record signing of Malian international Mamadou Sangare from French side Lens. The five‑year deal, worth $52 million, is the highest fee in Brentford’s history and is intended to strengthen the midfield ahead of the new Premier League season.
Arsenal Football Club reached a preliminary agreement with Newcastle United for Brazilian midfielder Bruno Guimarães. The reported fee is £77 million, including add‑ons, making it Arsenal’s fourth‑biggest purchase. Guimarães, 28, has 48 caps for Brazil and featured at the recent World Cup. The deal is expected to be completed after a medical.
Both clubs are investing heavily in midfield talent as they prepare for the upcoming campaign.
