Premier League clubs target midfielders in €30‑120 million transfer race

Leeds United have emerged as a leading contender for 24‑year‑old Belgian midfielder Mandela Keita, who currently plays for Parma. The Italian club has set an asking price of around €30 million, a figure Leeds deem acceptable as they seek to strengthen their midfield ahead of the 2025/26 season. Everton are also in the chase, while the club looks beyond its recent signing of Harry Wilson to secure a long‑term partner for Ethan Ampadu.

At the same time, Liverpool have entered a bidding war for 23‑year‑old Argentine midfielder Enzo Fernández of Chelsea. Liverpool’s offer could reach €120 million, placing them alongside Paris Saint‑Germain and Bayern Munich, both of which have expressed interest. Chelsea have signalled they will not lower their price, leaving the English clubs to negotiate with the player's representatives.

Both Premier League sides are seeking to boost their squads through high‑profile midfield signings, with the respective Italian and French clubs also featuring in the negotiations.
