Premier League moves key fixtures for TV broadcast

The Premier League has released its 2026/27 televised schedule, shifting several matches to accommodate live broadcast slots. Notable changes include the Manchester derby, moved from Saturday to Sunday 13 September, and Aston Villa’s opening home game against Arsenal, shifted from 29 August to Monday 31 August at 20:00 on Sky Sports. Villa’s subsequent fixtures against Hull City (5 September, 17:30) and Tottenham Hotspur (19 September, 12:30) were also rescheduled for live coverage.

Other clubs affected by the reshuffle are Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal, and Newcastle, with many games moving away from the traditional Saturday 3 pm slot. The adjustments reflect the league’s nine teams competing in European tournaments and the broadcasters’ push for prime‑time viewership across the season.
