Premier League referees undergo intensive training for new season
Premier League referees recently conducted intensive training sessions in Loughborough to prepare for the upcoming season. The professional training regimen includes multiple daily sessions to ensure officials are physically and mentally prepared for the high-pressure environment of top-flight football.
In addition to physical training, the officials follow a strict nutritional program. Their menu includes options such as chicken, beef teriyaki, or tofu with vegetables, supplemented by protein bars, fruit, granola, and Greek yogurt.
Referee Sam Allison noted that the intensity of their preparation is often misunderstood by the public. He emphasized that the workload involves significant sacrifice and professional dedication to ensure accurate decision-making on the pitch, even with the assistance of VAR technology.
