Premier League viewership in India hits 9 billion minutes on JioStar
JioStar, the official broadcast partner for the Premier League in India, has released a research study in collaboration with Nielsen titled ‘The Beautiful Game’s Indian Decade’. The report reveals that during the 2025-26 season, Indian viewers watched 9.04 billion minutes of Premier League football via the JioStar network. Linear TV viewership for the league was recorded at three times that of the Champions League.
The study highlights a significant expansion of the fanbase beyond metropolitan areas. Viewership in regions such as Rajasthan, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Uttar Pradesh grew from 12% to over 25% of the total share over the last five years. Additionally, the research identifies Premier League supporters in India as an affluent demographic, with 70% reporting monthly credit card bills exceeding ₹40,000.
To promote the upcoming season, JioStar launched the ‘Humara Long Distance Love’ campaign. The marketing initiative features cricketers Sanju Samson and Riyan Parag, alongside actor Tiger Shroff, to celebrate the dedication of Indian fans who follow clubs despite time zone differences and geographical distances.
