Premier League youngsters push for first-team roles

Several young players in the Premier League are positioning themselves for first-team opportunities following strong pre-season performances.

At Aston Villa, 17-year-old forward Brian Madjo has been cleared to play following a successful appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport regarding FIFA's rules on the international transfer of minors. Madjo, signed from Metz for £10 million, has scored four goals in pre-season.

Chelsea's 17-year-old Kazakh winger Dastan Satpaev gained attention after scoring early in a match against Western Sydney Wanderers. Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso praised the player's strength and speed.

Additionally, 19-year-old Swedish forward Jonah Kusi-Asare is seeking regular minutes at Fulham after joining permanently from Bayern Munich.
