Premier Volleyball League cancels Santiago City matches amid Tropical Depression Maymay

The Premier Volleyball League (PVL) cancelled its On Tour Showdown scheduled for August 8 at the Santiago Sports Arena in Santiago City, Isabela, because of the approaching Tropical Depression Maymay (Kujira). The league cited safety concerns for fans, athletes, officials and staff, and noted that flight cancellations to the province had disrupted travel.

PVL President Ricky Palou expressed regret over the decision, promised to return to Santiago for the upcoming All‑Filipino Conference, and announced that all tickets purchased for the cancelled double‑header would be refunded. The tour will continue with stops in Lanao del Norte next week and Victorias City on August 22.
