Premier Volleyball League Invitational Conference begins August 31

The 9th Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Invitational Conference begins August 31 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, featuring a six-team, single-round-robin tournament. The competition includes four Philippine clubs—PLDT, Creamline, Nxled, and Farm Fresh—facing international challengers EST Cola from Thailand and a club from Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

Reigning champions PLDT, led by last year’s Conference MVP Savannah Dawn ‘Savi’ Davison, aim to defend their title. They face an immediate challenge against Thailand’s EST Cola. Meanwhile, eleven-time champions Creamline, featuring Jaja Santiago-Minowa, seek to improve upon their third-place finish from the previous year.

The tournament format is highly competitive, with only the top two teams advancing to the championship match. Each squad will play five elimination-round matches. The Philippine teams enter the tournament without several players currently serving on the national team, placing a premium on roster depth and conditioning.
