Premis Butaca theatre awards announce nominations

The nominations for the 32nd edition of the Premis Butaca theatre awards in Catalonia have been announced. The productions ‘L’amor venia amb taxi’ by La Cubana and ‘La mort i la primavera’ by La Veronal and the Teatre Nacional de Catalunya lead the nominations with nine candidacies each. ‘El barquer’ from Teatre Lliure follows closely with eight nominations.

Other notable productions include ‘La corona d’espines’ and ‘Una festa a Roma’, both with five nominations, while several other plays such as ‘Gegant’ and ‘El mestre i Margarita’ have received four. The awards cover various categories including best direction, best acting, best musical, and best small-format spectacle. The public can vote for their favorite shows until November 16, one week before the gala.
