Premis Vinari awards recognize top Catalan wines and wineries

Premis Vinari Catalan wine awards Tros del Tossal Cérvoles Vallformosa

The annual Premis Vinari awards were held at the Maria Rosa Juncosa Municipal Auditorium in Vilafranca del Penedès, recognizing excellence in the Catalan wine industry for 2026.

Key winners included the Tros del Tossal 2023, a syrah monovarietal from Cérvoles winery (DO Costers del Segre), which was named the best Catalan red wine and received the Gran Or de Negres Criança medal. The Guilera Centenari 2005 from Cava Aguilera (DO Cava) was awarded best sparkling wine, earning the Gran Or d’Escumosos Blancs de Criança Llarga.

Other notable honors included the Coca i Fitó d’Or 2024 from DO Terra Alta for best young white wine, and Vallformosa was named the best winery. Additionally, Josefina Piñol of Piñol winery was honored for her professional career and pioneering work in quality bottled wines.
